A different standard for cannabis

I took a vacation, and my pal Mike was so far away that I had to fly.

I absolutely hate airports, but in this case there was no other way to travel.

There are a great many valid reasons to hate airports, from the long lines, invasive searches, and high prices to the horrible way people act while traveling. Also, you can’t bring booze or weed with you. I would much prefer driving, but as I said, that wasn’t possible this time. I made sure my pal had a big supply of cannabis and whiskey for me at his house. Mike tried his best, but his idea of a “big supply” of cannabis is not up to my standard. I usually have at least three different kinds of cannabis on hand at any one time, because I smoke a lot of it and I like variety. I thanked him for his hospitality, and then got on my phone to find the closest cannabis dispensary with delivery. I certainly didn’t want to leave again after so much travel, so I got the cannabis delivered to his house. They had a special on OG Kush, which I haven;’t smoked in a long time, so I got some of that, as well as a homegrown Sativa strain. I finished off my order with some edibles, and then went back to hanging out with my friend. It took three hours for my delivery to arrive, and in that time I smoked the entire supply of cannabis Mike had picked up for my visit.

To pass the time, we smoked weed competitively

How did you pass the time in quarantine? Of course you smoked a lot, we all smoked a lot, but what else did you do? There was only so much TV I could watch, you know what I mean? I watched all five seasons of The Wire, then the whole run of Sopranos, and topped it off with Breaking Bad and then every episode of Better Call Saul.

  • After that I just didn’t want to even look at the TV for a while, so I had to get creative.

I live with my friend Randy and his girlfriend Charlotte, and we hatched the idea of a cannabis “olympics” style event. We created several different games based around smoking marijuana, and then would go head to head and see who came out on top. I know it sounds corny, but give me a break, the cannabis dispensary delivered, and we literally had nothing else to do but smoke. We started off with “blunt sprints” which used lower quality marijuana in blunts, and we each smoked a whole blunt to see who did it the fastest. Next was the Gravity Bong Hurdles, which used OG Kush in our sink-based gravity bong, and this was an endurance challenge. We probably should have used lower quality marijuana for that, because it knocked us all out… but I was the last one standing! The cannabis olympics lasted for the better part of a week, mostly because we would smoke ourselves unconscious by the middle of the day! It was an amazing way to pass the time.

An amazing cannabis experience on a cruise

I took my first cruise last month! It wasn’t anything huge, just a two day back-and-forth trip over to one of the Bahama islands.

I had a total blast, and was partying pretty hard even before we left port.

My friends and I weren’t holding weed initially, so we were hitting the booze pretty hard to compensate. Our plan was to track down some local stuff in the islands, to try and get high ended Bahama grass. Once we landed and started walking around, it took us about an hour to find someone with cannabis to sell. It looked great, smelled even better, and the man who sold it claimed it was freshly harvested from his own marijuana field. The crazy part was that we paid him, and he handed us the entire bag of cannabis. It must have been half a pound of this insanely tasty marijuana, for the price of what I pay for two ounces at home! There was a problem, of course — we easily smuggled the cannabis onto the ship, but knew we would probably be searched on the way off. That meant the clock was ticking, and we had to power smoke as much marijuana as we could before it was time to get off. Someone floated the idea of putting the cannabis in a balloon and swallowing, but I pointed out how the balloon would exit the body, and said no. We ended up rolling a couple of dozen marijuana blunts and running around the decks just handing them out — no use in having quality cannabis go to waste!

The cannabis dispensary will be competition

I have a small field of marijuana plants deep on my parent’s farmland.

Small town life is pretty isolated, and a lot of folks have a desire to make things “the way they used to be.” People use this as an excuse to resist change, or even worse get angry about change. When pot legalization came up during the last state elections, this whole town lost its collective mind. People were outraged about it, people put up signs and made a big fuss. Of course legalization passed, we all knew it would, so then the town focused on passing a local ordinance to prohibit any cannabis dispensaries from opening within the town limits. This is fine with me, because I have been secretly growing and selling marijuana for the last three years, and I don’t need the competition. It’s funny to me that a few of the people fighting against the cannabis dispensary are buying from me on the sly. No one dares be open about using mairjuana, but lots of people do… thanks to me. I have a small field of marijuana plants deep on my parent’s farmland. This is not an active farm, thanks to government subsidies my parents make more money by not growing anything, so I use the land for some marijuana plants. I don’t go nuts with it, I haven’t expanded my marijuana field in over a year, because I don’t want to grow so much that it will draw attention. Even if the cannabis dispensary does open, many of the locals won’t want to buy weed in public, so maybe it won’t affect my revenue at all.

I’m starting to get sick of cannabis flower products

Sometimes too much of a really good thing can result in diminishing returns over time.

I use ice cream as a good example for most people.

Even those of us that love ice cream would grow sick of it if that was the only thing we ate all day, everyday. Pizza is my favorite food of all time, but I had to take a break for a few months in college when that was all I was eating every single day when I went to the cafeteria. This happens with a lot of food that I like. I’ll get something like frozen general tso’s chicken and will prepare it for lunch everyday until I get so sick of it that I don’t want to look at it any longer. Despite being barred from purchasing medical marijuana flower products when the drug was initially legalized in our state, I’m starting to get sick of them now that they’re ubiquitous everywhere. The effects aren’t as pronounced for me as they used to be, so I have largely switched over to marijuana oils and concentrates. I like how I can take a single hit and get the same effects that I’d usually obtain from an entire bowl of cannabis flower buds. People would be shocked to learn that I have passed up sales where I could get a half ounce of high quality cannabis flower buds for only $80. The problem is, that weed won’t get used and will slowly dry out and lose its potency. I’d rather take the $80 and get a gram or two of marijuana oils and concentrates. You can even get cannabis oil in vaporizer cartridges now. These cannabis oil pens are becoming extremely popular among all ages, especially people who want to medicate discreetly.

Cannabis dispensary events often feature food and live music

This week is poised to be a big event because of the huge cannabis oil promotions on July 10th every year

I love going to events around my city on the weekends when I have time away from my busy work schedule. Sometimes there are arts and crafts fairs, farmers markets, and ethnic festivals. The annual Greek festival in my city is a great place to hear traditional music and dine on delicious Greek food at prices you can’t find at restaurants. The Italian festival has all of that and more, as they also hire a carnival with rides and game booths. It was a fun event every year for all of the kids in my city. It’s where my friend John met his current wife back when we were all still in high school. I don’t go anymore because of the noise and the rising cost of food every year. However, I’m always interested in events at the cannabis dispensaries on days like 4/20, 7/10, and major national holidays. Aside from having a sale on all of the products inside the store, the cannabis dispensary also has food and live music outside in the parking lot. If there’s a massive line going around the building because of a sale on cannabis flower products, everyone can enjoy food and music while they wait. This week is poised to be a big event because of the huge cannabis oil promotions on July 10th every year. People say that 7/10 looks like the word “oil” upside down, so it has become a holiday for cannabis concentrates while 4/20 is a holiday for marijuana as a whole. I’m excited to purchase more live rosin to use in my vaporizer setup.

You can get free delivery through my cannabis dispensary

It wasn’t difficult to get used to having delivery over the past year, regardless of whether or not I’m shopping at an eating establishment or a grocery store.

It was sincerely easier in addition to less stressful because I could abruptly avoid all of the people in public who would never wear masks whenever they left their residences.

Before the pandemic started, grocery shopping was still super stressful for me because the aisles were pretty much always packed with people in addition to the shelves were commonly empty when I needed particular products. This turned shopping into a pretty stressful errand in addition to forced me to avoid it at all costs until delivery was finally launched during the pandemic. Obviously there were fees that came along with using this service, but for me it completely was worth the added cost if I could avoid the stress from shopping in addition to risk from being exposed to infectious people everywhere in public. The marijuana dispensaries were especially stressful during the pandemic. Before then it was hard enough showing up randomly in addition to finding what you wanted, let alone the added stress of being stuck in a claustrophobic lobby for an hour at a time while others were going around the place maskless. When the cannabis dispensaries unveiled their delivery options for the first time, I was ecstatic. Many people grumbled that they were charging for delivery, but I got it. You absolutely must account for the gasoline in addition to the wages of the person making the deliveries. Thankfully my number one cannabis dispensary has free delivery on all orders over $100. On any order lower than $100, the delivery fee is $10. Since I often order at least $150 worth of products at a time, I pretty much always get free delivery to my home.

I don’t mind the cannabis delivery fees very much

I was honestly used to dwelling delivery over the past year, regardless of whether or not I’m shopping at a diner or a grocery store.

There is a fee that comes with cannabis delivery
