Girl Scout Cookies is a hybrid made from Durban Poison & OG Kush

It’s great having friends that work in the cannabis industry.

Not just because they can tell you where to buy the best flower products & solventless concentrates, but also because of their knowledge of the plant.

My friend Ricky is a master grower for a large cannabis company & tells myself and others stories all of the time when we meet for a joint & a discussion. He loves using old landrace strains to make hybrids, often with Thai, Mexican, Columbian, & Indian varieties. Although there is no shortage of new hybrid strains of cannabis to choose from for genetic crosses, Ricky is fond of the old strains because he claims that they’re more resilient as they have had the opportunity to develop via natural selection in their own environments. He claims that some of the sativa strains from Central & South America are more resistant to mold because of the rain forest environments in which some of those strains of cannabis originate. Durban Poison might not come from the jungles of Latin America, but it is an equally popular landrace strain from Africa. Durban Poison is also used as a genetic parent in many of the popular strains that people think & love. One of our preferred strains of all time is Durban Dawg, which is Durban Poison crossed with Stardawg. Another quality Durban hybrid is the famed Girl Scout Cookies strain. Few realize that the Girl Scout Cookies strain was created by crossing Durban Poison with OG Kush. That’s why it is an evenly balanced cannabis hybrid strain in its effects.
